The claimA reader asks: "Did Conrad Vine say not to give your tithe to the church?" The submitted video is "Dr. Conrad Vine on Tithe, Storehouse, and Church Accountability. @ConradVine", posted by Advent Media Connect on June 29, 2026. It is an excerpt from Vine's sermon "\"Entropy\" | Dr. Conrad Vine", posted on his own channel on June 26, 2026.
What the source says
Keep tithing. At about 15:55, he says: "tithe withholding is where you do not return any tithe to the Lord and we should not do that. We should return a faithful tithe to the Lord."
Other recipients. He says "you can return your tithe to any conference that is faithful to scripture" (about 2:06). He also suggests tithing "to a storehouse in the irregular lines to support a Bible-faithful gospel worker. That is somebody who's not a conference employee" (about 8:30).
The challenge. At about 24:08, he says: "then I want to challenge you today ... if you're watching this and the Holy Spirit has convicted you, that nobody today, from this day forward should return any tithe in the form of money, to any Adventist conference, mission or field, until the following conditions are met"
The four conditions. At about 28:55 he sums them up: "Dissolve our relationship with the UN, set aside all our statements, apologize for the reaffirmation statement, and agree to uphold what we believe in all of our institutions."
- "Statements": in context, these are official General Conference statements, which he wants "set aside."
- The apology: he wants it given "to those who were hurt by the reaffirmation statement." Earlier in "Entropy" he identifies this as the October 2021 statement issued during the pandemic.
- The institutions: he says "particularly in NAD," referring to the North American Division, and describes the condition in terms of marriage and sexuality.
In 2024. After a 2024 camp-meeting sermon, Fulcrum7 published Vine's written clarification. In it he said he had proposed that a lay-led group "receive tithe, and then allocate it to Bible-faithful SDA Conferences. NOT to divert the tithe to any other use."
Church sources on tithe. Neither source below was written in response to this video.
- Robinson's article: Vine quotes retired North American Division treasurer Randy Robinson. Robinson wrote in 2024 that defining the local conference as the storehouse "is not a theological requirement" but "a polity decision we have simply agreed on collectively." In the same paragraph he added: "I also strongly believe that as Seventh-day Adventists, we should wholeheartedly embrace the process and participate in it fully."
- Belief 21: the church's official belief on stewardship says tithe is returned "for the proclamation of His gospel and the support and growth of His church." It does not name a receiving body.
What it doesn’t say
- Not "stop tithing": he does not tell anyone to stop tithing, and he calls withholding tithe wrong.
- Limited scope: his challenge covers tithe "in the form of money" to conferences, missions and fields. It does not cover tithe sent to other recipients.
